{"id":111,"date":"2010-10-08T19:04:00","date_gmt":"2010-10-08T19:04:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/melindavermeer.com\/blog\/?p=111"},"modified":"2012-06-17T19:05:43","modified_gmt":"2012-06-17T19:05:43","slug":"recycling","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/melindavermeer.com\/blog\/recycling\/","title":{"rendered":"Recycling"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/melindavermeer.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/umi.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-112\" title=\"umi\" src=\"https:\/\/melindavermeer.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/umi.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/melindavermeer.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/umi.png 400w, https:\/\/melindavermeer.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/umi-300x225.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/a>I have a stash of purchased wool sweaters that have accidentally gone thru the wash and been felted over the years that I have intended to someday make something with them.<\/p>\n<p>This morning, I took one with the most length, a brown &amp; tan fair isle style sweater, and after some altering of the pattern I have used in the past for fleece coats for my italian greyhound, Umi, I was able to work out a way to use it for a new sweater for Umi.<\/p>\n<p>The back of the sweater wasn\u2019t large enough to be able to cut the body out as one piece, so added a seam above the leg openings for the front pieces cut from one of the sleeves, matching the stripes fairly close.<\/p>\n<div>The neck band was the sweater\u2019s bottom ribbing that still had a bit of stretch and wasn\u2019t as felted as the colorwork parts of the sweater.<\/p>\n<div>\n<div><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.melindavermeer.com\/Blog\/Entries\/2010\/10\/8_Recycling_files\/shapeimage_2.png\" alt=\"\" \/><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>It fits him perfectly, with still a little bit of stretch, and should be great for keeping the rain off him better than polyester fleece coats when he goes outside this winter.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I have a stash of purchased wool sweaters that have accidentally gone thru the wash and been felted over the years that I have intended to someday make something with them.
